Chilko Trout Genetics
Did you know the Chilko River Rainbows are genetically identifical to the Chilko River Steelhead? Did you know that they are actually steelhead that decided to choose Chilko as their home instead of going to the ocean? You know what they say, “you can be a big fish in a little pond, or a little fish in a big pond”. I guess the Chilko Steelhead decided to be a big fish in Chilko River and Lake, instead of a little fish in the ocean.
