At the time of reservation we will need the names of the riders, height, weight, age, and riding abilities.
The lodge riding is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders.
Rides are from 10-25 km longs and are from 4 -6 hours in duration.
Weight Limits for horse riders is 200 lbs. Please check as we may have a suitable horse for your weight, height, and riding experience.
All riders must be physically fit, able to mount and dismount both sides of a horse, walk, trot, canter, and saddle up.
There are normally 8 riders per guide depending on rider skills and conditions.
Ride schedules change daily based on weather and best conditions.
Riding helmet is recommended for all riders, but mandatory for riders under the age of 16. We don’t have a supply of riding helmets at the lodge.
The single supplement will include a private room, but it may have a shared bathroom with the same gender. ( Limited availability)
To reserve space a 50% deposit of the total trip price is due at the time of reservation. The balance is due 60 days in advance of the trip. The deposit can be made by Visa, MasterCard, US cheque or US Wire Transfer.
TRAVEL AND TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE
We highly recommend getting trip cancellation insurance in case you have to cancel your trip.
It is your responsibility to understand your coverage and be very clear of what it does and does not cover.
In Canada trip cancellation applies to sudden and unexpected situations (i.e. Accidents or Emergencies). Some do not cover Covid 19. Some offer 100% reimbursement and others only 50%. There are two types of factors to look at in your policy.
The first is Trip Cancellation – when a covered reason causes you to cancel your trip before leaving your departure point.
The second is Trip Interruption – when a covered reason occurs during your trip which causes the delay of your departure from your departure point; or when a covered reason occurs during your trip which causes an early or late return back to your departure point.
The most comprehensive insurance is called “Cancel for Whatever Reason”. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid restrictions many Canadian insurers are not selling this kind of policy at this time for Canadians. Once restrictions lift the “Cancel For any Reason” policy will be reinstated.
Comprehensive insurance that covers horse riding and or related activities, trip cancelation, personal injury, death medical expense, reparation expense, and evacuation expense irrespective if you are traveling alone or in your home country.
We accept no responsibility or liability if you choose not to take out appropriate trip or cancelation insurance.
COVID POLICY 2021 AND CANCELLATION OF RESERVATION
If possible, make sure you get your vaccine when available. For International guests, anyone not able to come because of a border closure (about 90 days) we will roll over their reservation with their deposit intact to 2022.
For Canadians who are able to travel we check in with you 75 days to again confirm your reservation and you are able to come. If you cannot come due to an accident (not Covid) your trip cancellation covers your deposit.
At 60 days the full balance is due.
If a person contracts Covid and cannot come within the sixty-day mark, both the deposit and balance are non-refundable. Unless you can find a replacement person to take your trip. In the case of someone contracting Covid and then fully recovers prior to the trip. Proof from a Doctor will be required that states you have been cleared to travel and display no signs of Covid or the potential of spreading the illness.
If a person cannot come because of a Canadian border closure, inter-provincial border closure, or a provincial travel ban which is out of everyone’s control, the reservation with the full deposit will be rolled over until 2022. Or if another later date in the same season is available, we will just move dates to later in the season.
Until the virus is solved, we will be following best practices as governed by the Province of BC.
To catch the charter flight to Tsylos make your way to the Signature Building located at: 5360 Airport Road South, Richmond BC.
VANCOUVER TO TSYLOS CHECK IN: 8:50 AM, plane starts loading at 9:00 am, DEPARTURE: 9:30 AM
TSYLOS TO VANCOUVER DEPARTS LODGE 8:30 AM arrives in Vancouver by 1:00 pm.
Please do not make connecting flights out of Vancouver to home until after 3:30 pm. This allows for delays due to weather conditions as well as enough time to transfer between airports and clear customs.
Passengers can have 40 lbs. maximum luggage weight per person in soft luggage please.
VEHICLE TRANSFERS BETWEEN AIRPORT AND LODGE
We use three different airports to transport guests from Vancouver to Tsylos. In the off season when passenger numbers are lower, we can use the small Chilko airport with a six passenger charter plane. In the peak season we are using an 18 passenger beech 1900. This aircraft requires a larger strip such as Anaheim Lake airport or Puntzi Airport. These airports are a 1.5-2 hour drive from the lodge. We pick you up at the airport and drive to the lodge in time for lunch.
