Welcome to the Tsylos Travel page. Here are a few helpful tips when visiting Vancouver, British Columbia and flight information to Tsylos Park Lodge.

HOW TO GET TO TSYLOS PARK LODGE

Getting to Tsylos is easy. All of our Adventure Vacation Packages include transportation from Vancouver to Tsylos Park Lodge by charter aircraft. All you have to do is get to Vancouver, BC. Or if you own your own plane, we have a 3200′ gravel strip at the north end of Chilko Lake. We are located 180 air miles north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the North end of Chilko Lake, BC. It sounds like just a short trip from Vancouver, and it is by aircraft. The best way in and out is by sky.

Where do I catch the plane to Tsylos?

There are two airports in Richmond, BC. The Vancouver International Airport and adjacent to it, the South Airport. The main terminal of the South Airport is called the South Terminal. 300 yards from it is the Sky Services Building, 5360 Airport Road South, Richmond, BC. This is the address you will want to give to the taxi driver or shuttle service. If they drop you off at the South Terminal you are in the wrong location.

What time do I need to get to the Sky Services Building?

You need to arrive at the Sky Services Building no later than 8:50 am on Sunday morning. When you arrive at the Sky Services Building, please check in at the front counter and tell them that you are flying to Tsylos Park Lodge and give them your name. You do not need a ticket for your flight to Tsylos. The charter company will have your name on our passenger list. The pilots will arrive around 9:00 am to start loading luggage and checking passengers.

What time does the plane leave Vancouver to Tsylos Park Lodge?

The Flight Departure is 9:30 am Sunday – Check in: 8:50 am, plane starts to load 9:00 am. The plane departs to Tsylos at 9:30 am. You will arrive at Tsylos in time for lunch.  We use two different airports depending on aircraft and weather. The Puntzi Lake Airport which has a 1 ½ hour vehicle transfer to the lodge, or if we can, we use the small strip at Chilko which is a 1 and half hour plane ride, but a short vehicle transfer.

What time does the plane arrive in Vancouver from Tsylos Park Lodge?

Your return flight to Vancouver will start with an early morning breakfast at the lodge, followed by a 1 ½ hour vehicle transfer to the Puntzi Airport.  The charter flight leaves Puntzi at 11:00 am and you land in Vancouver by 12:00 -12:30. We ask you not to make connecting flights out of Vancouver until after 3:30 pm. This allows you plenty of time to catch a connecting flight out of Vancouver, to transfer between airports, clear customs, and a slight delay if we have bad weather.

What is the weight limits of baggage for each person?

Each passenger is allowed a total luggage weight limit of 35 lbs. per person in soft sided luggage. 

Can I drive to Vancouver and Park and Fly?

If you are driving to Vancouver to catch the plane to Tsylos Park Lodge, you can park your car at the Signature building where you catch the plane. Please make arrangements and pay the parking fee at the Signature reception desk, just inside the door.

Is there anywhere I can store luggage at the airport I don't need at Tsylos?

If you are traveling around BC and would prefer to store some of your luggage in Vancouver that you may not need at Tsylos, you have a couple of options. The airport hotels will sometimes store your luggage if you are staying with them on the return trip. Otherwise here is another option for storing luggage while away from Vancouver   www.yvr.ca

Can I fly to Tsylos with my own plane?

We do have a landing strip close to the lodge. It is 3200′ well packed and maintained gravel airstrip (18/36). Our intercom is 122.8. We have tie downs and run up pads available.

Hotels close to the Airport in Richmond, BC

While traveling to Vancouver there are two areas to stay;  Richmond, BC where the International Airport is located or downtown Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is about a 20 minute drive from the airport, depending on traffic.

Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel

For our guests flying into Vancouver the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is located in the main terminal of the Vancouver International Airport and is very convenient.

Pacific Gateway Hotel  (Previously the Delta Airport Hotel)

This hotel is close to both the Vancouver International airport and the south airport. For guests driving to Vancouver, it offers complimentary parking during your trip to the lodge.
