What to Pack for Your Canadian Wilderness Trip

Wilderness Horse Adventures. Canadian Wilderness Trip

Wilderness Horse Adventures. Best Canadian Wilderness Trip

Imagine sleeping out under a blanket of stars after enjoying a day of horseback riding through towering mountains and around clear lakes. With our wilderness horse adventures from Tsylos, you can enjoy the Canadian wilderness for a whole week. Our Canadian wilderness trips give you a chance to experience the pristine, natural beauty of the Coastal Mountains.

When you join us on wilderness pack trip tours, we suggest bringing certain items to make your trip comfortable:

  • Camera, extra memory chips, and  battery. Whether you’re enjoying one of our wilderness horse adventures or Lodge Horseback Riding you’ll want a camera close by to capture the beauty on film. Our Canadian wilderness trips include breathtaking scenery, second to none.
  • Sunblock to protect your skin.  After being outside horseback riding all day, your skin will need protection from the sun – it is pretty intense in British Columbia.
  • Our Canadian wilderness trips take you through largely unexplored country and you’ll want your legs protected with half chaps or full chaps, if you don’t have a pair, we have extra ones at the lodge you can use.
  • Moisturizer and lip balm to keep your skin and lips moisturized.  Exposure to sun and wind during our wilderness tours can leave your skin feeling dry and chapped.
  • Water Bottle. Whether you’re heading out on one of our wilderness horse adventures or sticking around the lodge for some time in the hot tub, it’s never a bad idea to have a water bottle with you.
  • Windbreaker and Raincoat. You should always be prepared for weather contingencies on your Canadian wilderness trips. Because we’re dealing with nature, we never know what’s going to happen, so the best way to make sure you are comfortable is to pack clothes that will protect you no matter the weather.
  • Riding Helmut or Cowboy Hat is a must on a wilderness pack trip. Riding helmets are great at protecting you if you should fall, but cowboy hats are great for sun and rain protection. The wide brim keeps your face safe from both.
  • Sleeping bag rates for at least – 10 Fahrenheit. It normally does not get this cold, but you want to be prepared just in case.

What we provide for you:

  • duffel bag to include sleeping mat, your personal gear, and sleeping bag.
  • sleeping mat
  • saddle bags
  • tent for two persons
  • Saddle, bridle, halter, lead rope, saddle blankets
  • All of the camp equipment

Your week on a wilderness mountain pack trip is experience on our excellent pack horses.  You’ll enjoy getting back to the basics: elements in the wilderness, a really good traveling companion, your horse, a snug sleeping bag, a tent to keep the dew off, a campfire to cook our meals by.  A simple and enjoyable week, all surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and millions of wild flowers.

At Tsylos, we want our wilderness tours to be some of the best times of your life, but we also want you to be prepared for anything. Canadian wilderness trips let you explore the beauty of North America in all of its natural glory. Check out our rates and availability and start planning your trip today.
